Derek Tangye's series of over 20 autobiographical books, The Minack Chronicles, tells how he and his wife Jean Nicol turned their backs on a glittering, socialite lifestyle in 1940s London and went to set up a flower farm on the cliffs of West Cornwall.
The remote, unspoilt land which they bought is now a Nature Reserve and "a place for solitude", where those seeking peace and tranquillity may wander to enjoy the beauties of the coastal scenery.
